As the world of molecular biology and biomedical research rapidly evolves, data-rich, high-throughput techniques become increasingly critical for accelerating discovery. ITSI-Biosciences can analyze your samples using Luminex xMAP technology; a powerful tool for multiplexed nucleic acid and protein quantitation. At ITSI-Bio, we perform services  to help you get the most comprehensive and accurate results from your research, faster and more efficiently and without having to purchase or maintain costly equipment

What Is xMAP?

The Luminex xMAP® technology combines the principles of flow cytometry with microsphere-based multiplexing, allowing for the simultaneous detection and quantification of up to 500 analytes in a single reaction. Using color-coded beads, each coupled to a specific probe or antibody, Luminex allows researchers to analyze complex biological samples—such as serum, plasma, or cell lysates—with remarkable sensitivity and throughput.

Key Applications of Luminex:

  • Cytokine profiling
  • Biomarker discovery
  • Gene expression analysis
  • Pathogen detection
  • Pharmacokinetic and toxicological studies

Whether you’re running clinical trials, conducting immunological studies, or monitoring disease states, Luminex provides a scalable solution with high reproducibility and low sample input requirements.

What Is QuantiGene?

QuantiGene® technology (ThermoFisher Scientific) is a hybridization-based assay that enables direct quantification of RNA (and DNA) without the need for reverse transcription or amplification. It relies on branched DNA (bDNA) signal amplification, making it exceptionally robust and accurate—particularly in samples that are difficult to process, such as FFPE tissues or crude lysates.

Unlike traditional qPCR, QuantiGene assays avoid enzymatic steps, reducing variability and improving precision.

Key Benefits of QuantiGene:

  • No need for RNA purification or reverse transcription
  • Compatible with degraded RNA samples
  • Multiplex capability (up to 80 targets)
  • Ideal for gene expression profiling, especially in clinical or archival samples

This makes QuantiGene an excellent tool for validating RNA-seq results, monitoring gene expression in drug development pipelines, or conducting toxicogenomic studies. Pre-configured and custom panels are available.  Just tell us what you need.

If your project involves cytokine panels or protein biomarkers, our Luminex xMAP service is the go-to. For gene expression studies in challenging sample types, our QuantiGene service offers unmatched reliability and consistency.
