Autoantibody Detection Kit (K-0046)
Our unique Autoantibody Detection Kit is specifically developed for detection and quantitation of multiple autoantibodies that may be present in human body fluids such as blood.
Autoantibodies are a type of antibodies that are produced against substances formed by a person’s own body. Autoantibodies can directly destroy cells that have the substances on them, or they can make it easier for white blood cells to recognize and eliminate the substance1. Many individuals have autoantibodies, and it is known that some autoimmune diseases are caused by autoantibodies.
The production of autoantibodies may be due to genetic predisposition, hormones, therapeutic drugs or an environmental component including exposure to viruses and toxic chemicals. The presence of autoantibodies is associated with autoimmune disorders and literature suggests that the use of autoantibodies as biomarkers may enhance early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of the progress of autoimmune disorders2-5. Autoantibodies can also be used as an adjunct for disease evaluation and to provide a cost-effective personalized approach to guide diagnosis. It can also assist in stratification of patients and in disease prognostication6.
ITSI-Biosciences’ unique Autoantibody Detection Kit is specifically developed for detection and quantitation of multiple autoantibodies that may be present in human body fluids such as blood. The kit is for general autoantibody research and autoantibody-wide association studies. Using this you may identify putative autoantibodies that are present in the autoantibody reactome and relevant in a disease process. It can also be used to study autoimmune phenomena attributable to COVID-19 exposure, and the new-onset phenomena after COVID-19 vaccination7.
The autoantibody kit includes a set of antigens that detect specific autoantibodies. It is presented in a 96-well microtiter plate format and the kit includes all reagents and materials required for screening, detection and interpretation of the results. The manufacturing process utilizes a unique blocking reagent and protocol that ensures high sensitivity and reproducibility. To increase experimental confidence, each plate has an internal standard for the generation of a standard curve, and a positive and a negative control. The product is easy-to-use, and can be used for qualitative and semi-quantitative assays.
The performance of the autoantibody detection kit has been evaluated using plasma from consented donors with breast and ovarian cancer8-10.
