Protein Isolation Kit for Formalin-Fixed Paraffin Embedded Tissue (ToPI-F2, K-0017)
$599.00
ITSI’s Total Protein Isolation Kit for FFPE Tissue (ToPI-F2) is a high-performance solution for protein extraction from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples. Designed for use in proteomics workflows, the kit enables efficient total protein isolation for downstream applications including SDS-PAGE, mass spectrometry, western blotting, and immunoassays. Each assay processes five ~10 µm FFPE tissue sections and delivers up to 10,000 µg/mL of protein, depending on tissue type and fixation conditions.
Unlock Proteomic Analysis from Archived FFPE Tissue Samples for Life Sciences and Translational Research
Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue preparation remains the gold standard in histopathology and clinical research, with millions of FFPE tissue samples archived annually across hospitals, biobanks, academic research institutions, and biotechnology organizations. Historically, these valuable specimens were largely restricted to histochemical and morphological analysis—limiting their utility in advanced molecular and proteomic research.
The ToPI-F2 Kit transforms archived FFPE samples into a powerful resource for proteomics, protein expression profiling, and translational biomedical research. This innovative solution enables efficient extraction of full-length proteins from FFPE tissues, making them suitable for downstream applications such as:
- Western blotting
- Protein arrays
- Mass spectrometry-based proteomics
- Immunodetection and antibody-based assays
Using ToPI-F2, researchers in life sciences, biotech R&D, and academic laboratories can investigate specific proteins and signaling pathways directly from archived FFPE specimens. By probing blots or protein arrays with multiple antibodies, scientists can simultaneously analyze multiple protein targets, generating comprehensive protein expression profiles and detailed insights into signaling transduction pathways, disease mechanisms, and biomarker discovery.
Principle
Formalin fixation preserves tissue morphology by creating extensive chemical crosslinks between proteins. While this stabilization is critical for histological analysis, it traditionally prevents effective protein extraction and separation techniques such as SDS-PAGE.
The ToPI-F2 Kit utilizes proprietary crosslink-reversal chemistry to efficiently reverse formalin-induced modifications and recover intact, full-length proteins. The resulting protein extracts are compatible with western blot analysis, protein array platforms, and mass spectrometry workflows—enabling robust immunodetection and quantitative proteomic analysis from archived clinical samples.
Applications
By unlocking the potential of archived FFPE tissue, this kit offers new avenues into:
- Discovery and validation of Biomarkers
- Research in Precision Medicine & Oncology
- Clinical Studies using archival samples
- Identification of potential Drug Targets
- Proteomics research in the Pharmaceutical industry & Academia
For life sciences researchers, biotech innovators, and academic investigators, the ToPI-F2 Kit bridges the gap between histopathology and advanced proteomic analysis—maximizing the value of existing tissue repositories and accelerating translational research from bench to bedside.
Procedure
Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples are deparaffinized through a series of optimized solvent incubations to ensure efficient paraffin removal while preserving protein integrity. Following the final incubation and centrifugation step, extracted proteins are recovered in the supernatant, ready for downstream proteomic analysis.
